Alienated labor

Workes lose contact not only with the products or service, but with their own thoughs and feelings and action.

The worker is meant to be a mechanical patt incorporated into a mechanical system. He findes it already pre-existence and self-sufficient, it functions independently of him, and he has to conform to its law whether he likes it or not... Here, too, the personality can do no more than look on helplessly while its own existence is reduced to an isolated partciles and fed into an alien system. The worker is a passive rather than an active participant in his life.

In fact, capitalism treats all men and women as interchangeable parts, as commodities exchangeable for other commodities. Everybody in society is forced into the Procrustean bed of reification and sistematically deprived of the freedom that everyone is supposed to enjoy.

One of the most insidious powers of capitalism, is its capacity to mobilize the energy of our intellects - and of our "intellectuals" - to blur our minds and paralyse our will, to reduce us to passive spectators of whatever fate the market inflicts on us.
