This changes everything

I'm making an argument about the profound threat that what we need to do in the face of climate change challenges the logic of neoliberalism and it's very clear and this is why. If you look at who denies the science of climate change it is overwhelmingly the most right-wing, most market fundamentalist institutions this is what has given birth to the whole movement of a climate change denial it's not a scientific movement it's a movement that was born and incubated inside the free market think thanks that sold the world neoliberalism it's very direct and very causal. We haven't been having deep debates about the very logic of extrativism and the assumptions that nature is limited, whether in its ability to provide resources or absorb our pollution.

Our economy is at war with many forms of life on earth, including human life. Wat the climate needs to avoid collapse is a contraction in humanity's use of resources; what our economic model demands to avoid collapse is unfettred expasion. Only one of these sets of rules can be changed, and it's not the laws of nature.
