Does the petty bourgeoisie fear revolution?

 

Leon Trotsky, in his writings on fascism, gave greater attention to the petty bourgeoisie as the social basis of fascist mass movements.

In extreme conditions of crisis and social disintegration in a capitalist society large numbers of people may become separated from their class and come to form a "free floating" mass which is particularly vulnerable to reactionary ideologies and movements.
